Osage Beach, Mo. Lake Regional Health System named gastroenterologist Kevin Byrne, DO, its 2017 Physician of the Year, Lake News Online reports.

1. The health system awarded him the honor at a banquet on March 30, 2017.
2. The system collected nominations from employees, auxilians, board members and physicians, which a committee reviewed.
3. The health system's CEO Michael Henze said to Lake News Online nominees needed to "demonstrate professionalism, integrity, a collaborative spirit and a positive attitude. Dr. Bryne excels in each of these traits. He cares deeply for his patients and has earned respect from his fellow staff. We are pleased to recognize him for exceptional service."
4. Dr. Byrne's nominators commended his professionalism, compassion and "outstanding patient care."
