GI physician leader to know: Dr. Harish Gagneja of Austin Gastroenterology

Harish K. Gagneja, MD, joined Austin Gastroenterology in 2004. He previously served as lead interventional endoscopist and co-director of the GI fellowship program at University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. He is a member of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American Gastroenterological Association and American College of Gastroenterology.

Dr. Gagneja has a professional interest in therapeutic endoscopy and newer technology in endoscopy. His clinical interests also include gastroesophageal reflux disease, constipation, hepatitis C and irritable bowel syndrome. He has presented at numerous national meetings and has authored several abstracts, manuscripts and book chapters.

Dr. Gagneja earned his medical degree at Government Medical College, Guru Nanak Dev University in India. He completed his residency training at the Cleveland Clinic affiliated hospitals. He completed his gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship at State University of New York at Buffalo.
