Blair S. Lewis, MD, FACP, FACG, FASGE, is founder and medical director of Physicians Endoscopy-affiliated Carnegie Hill Endoscopy in New York and a clinical professor of medicine at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. He is a past president of the New York Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and New York Academy of Gastroenterology.
Dr. Lewis is widely published, having written more than 72 scientific papers, 25 book chapters and three books. He was also one of the authors of the technical document behind the American Gastroenterological Association's position statements regarding occult and obscure GI bleeding.
Dr. Lewis focuses on gastrointestinal endoscopy and capsule endoscopy. He was the primary investigator for the first clinical trial of capsule endoscopy for the small intestine as well as for the first clinical trial of the colon capsule. He chairs the International Conference of Capsule Endoscopy annually. Additionally, he is a board member of AliveandKickn.org, a charity organization that aims to increase awareness and prevention of colorectal cancer.
Dr. Lewis earned his medical degree at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. He completed his residency at Montefiore Medical Center and his fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital, both located in New York.
