Gastroenterology Societies Submit Comments to CMS on 2011 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule Proposed Rule
The American Gastroenterological Association, the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy submitted joint comments on Aug. 24 to Donald Berwick, MD, MPP, FRCP, administrator of CMS, on the 2011 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule Proposed Rule, according to a copy of the letter published on the ASGE website.
The 12 page letter comments on many different issues including:
- Identification and Review of Potentially Misvalued Codes
- High-Cost Supplies
- Improvements to the Physician Quality Reporting Initiative (PQRI)
- Productivity Adjustment Regarding the Ambulatory Surgical Center Fee Schedule
- Physician Self-Referral for Imaging
- Maximum Period for Submission of Medicare Claims
