Gastroenterologists form new Tennessee-based practice: 4 key notes

Neil Price, MD, Elizabeth Lindsey, MD and Mark Miller, MD, formed GastroIntestinal Health Partners, The Wilson Post reports.

Here's what you should know.

1. The practice has offices in Lebanon, Tenn. and Nashville, Tenn.

2. The three physicians were former partners in Nashville (Tenn.) Medical Group. They left the practice after hospital officials told them they could no longer contract with the practice. NMG wanted to hire them as full-time employees instead.

3. Dr. Price told The Wilson Post, "Upon much reflection, we decided that while the model of being employees of Saint Thomas is a good option for our internal medicine partners, it is not the best model for our specialty, for our patients or for us personally. We believe we can provide better, more personal care for our patients in an independent setting."

4. The physicians will perform procedures at Nashville (Tenn.) Endo Surgery Center and Lebanon (Tenn.) Endoscopy Center.
