Gastroenterologist on the Move: Dr. Alma Faye Jenkins Joins Scotland Health Care System in North Carolina
Gastroenterologist Alma Faye Jenkins, MD, has joined Scotland Health Care System in Laurinburg, N.C., according to a report by The Laurinburg Exchange.
She joins the practice Sterling Surgical and GI, which was a merger between Carolinas Center for Digestive Health and the surgical practice of Dr. Frank Yang.
Dr. Jenkins most recently worked at Augusta Health in Fishersville, Vir., and prior to that at private practice Mt. Olive (N.C.) Family Medicine, according to the report.
She earned her medical degree at Meharry Medical College in Tennessee, completed a residency in internal medicine at Emory University Hospital Systems in Georgia and a fellowship in gastroenterology at Bowman-Gray Medical Center, which is now known as Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
Her areas of specialty include Crohn's Disease, ulcerative colitis, rectal bleeding and pancreatitis.
