The Israeli medical device company MOTUS GI recently received FDA clearance for its Pure-Vu System.
Here's what you need to know:
1. The Pure-Vu System cleans poorly-prepared colons during a colonoscopy procedure so that colorectal cancer screening can take place regardless of a patient's prior activities.
2. The system includes a disposable cleaning component that fits over a standard colonoscope. This device allows physicians to loosen debris from the colon mucosa during colonoscopy, so that they can obtain a clear visualization of the colon wall.
3. MOTUS GI says this device will help to decrease the prolonged procedure times, missed adenomas and repeat exams that occur when a patient does not appropriately prepare for a colonoscopy.
