Dr. K. Allen Greiner develops strategies for improving CRC screening in low-income, minority populations

K. Allen Greiner, MD, MPH, with the University of Kansas Cancer Center's Cancer Control and Population Health program in Kansas City, is in the process of developing strategies to improve colorectal cancer screening in low-income and minority populations, according to an Oncology Nurse Advisor report.

Dr. Greiner is a practicing family physician. He and his research team used implementation intentions questions to discover what can be used to get people screened. The researcher found that patients who were asked these types of questions had a 1.91 higher chance of undergoing screening, as opposed to patients who received standard colorectal cancer screening education.
