Israel-based Check-Cap enrolled its first patient in a multi-center study as it works to earn a CE Mark for its C-Scan system.
Here's what you should know.
1. The C-Scan system uses ultra-low dose X-ray technology in an ingestible capsule to map the colon to detect polyps and abnormalities.
2. The C-Scan system doesn't require bowel preparation.
3. Check-Cap designed the system for patients to avoid sedation and/or changes to diet or normal activities.
4. Check-Cap is in the process of evaluating the C-Scan's clinical safety and performance compared to the optical colonoscopy.
