In 2013, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention began to conduct a study to measure the patient time and costs associated with colorectal cancer screening colonoscopy and fecal immunochemical tests, according to an insurancenewsnet report.
The project, Colorectal Cancer Control Program Indirect/Non-Medical Cost Study (OMB No. 0920-0963, exp. 4/30/2014), received Office of Management and Budget approval, but the desired amount of information was not gathered during the initial approval period, according to the report.
The CDC is requesting a year-long extension from the OMB to collect and analyze the target amount of data.
