7 Recent Gastroenterologist Leadership Moves & Accomplishments

SurgeonHere are seven gastroenterologists that have recently taken on new leadership roles or expanded their practice.

Steve Goldschmid, MD, has been appointed associate vice president for clinical affairs at the Arizona Health Sciences Center and vice president for physician services at the University of Arizona Health Network. Prior to his new roles, Dr. Goldschmid served as dean of the University of Arizona College of Medicine.

Robert Kindel, MD, and James Cranley, MD, have joined Cincinnati-based TriHealth Digestive Institute. Dr. Kindel and Dr. Cranley will provide patient care at Good Samaritan Western Ridge in Cincinnati.

Klaus Mergener, MD, PhD, MBA, has joined the medical team of angelMD, a private equity firm combined with an equity crowd-funding platform. Dr. Mergener will serve as the chief medical officer of angelMD.

Camille Sommer, MD, has joined the medical staff of Parkridge Health System, based in Chattanooga, Tenn. Dr. Sommer is affiliated with the Gastroenterology Associates of Chattanooga.

Ann Marie Stephenson, DO, MBA, has joined Capital Digestive Care as the practice's 60th physician. Dr. Stephenson focuses on general GI health, IBD and IBS.

Andrew Weinberg, DO, has opened a new office location in Scottsdale, Ariz. He also maintains an office location in Gilbert, Ariz.
