Here are updates from professional gastroenterology societies in the last month.

The American College of Gastroenterology named 18 GI physicians as 2014 Clinical Research Award winners.

Nitesh Ratnakar, MD, FACG, was elected as West Virginia Governor for the American College of Gastroenterology.
 
The American Gastroenterological Association Research Foundation has six award application deadlines in January.

Three researchers from Mount Sinai Hospital in New York have won all the scientific achievement awards from the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America in the span of one year.

Ashish Nimgaonkar, MBBS, MTech, MS, of John Hopkins University in Baltimore, received the American Gastroenterological Association Research Foundation's AGA-Boston Scientific Career Development Technology & Innovation Award.

The American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy/American College of Gastroenterology Task Force on Quality in Endoscopy has updated quality indicators for all GI/endoscopy procedures and the four major endoscopic procedures.

The American Gastroenterological Association Academy of Educators has selected four recipients of a $1,000 competitive educational grant award.
