5 Recent GI-Driven Facility Openings & Expansions

Here are five recent gastroenterology-driven facility openings and expansions.

Advanced GI, led by board-certified gastroenterologist Gilbert Simoni, MD, opened a new office location in Thousand Oaks, Calif. The new office includes a larger operating room and recovery room than its previous location.

Brookhaven Gastroenterology Associates, in collaboration with Frontier Healthcare, is transitioning its office-based endoscopy unit in East Patchogue, N.Y., to an endoscopy surgery center.

Developers broke ground on the 90,000-square-foot Douglas Park Medical Office Park in Long Beach, Calif. One of the new medical office buildings will be occupied by physicians of Long Beach Gastroenterology. The physicians will operate the Greater Long Beach Endoscopy Center, affiliated with Surgical Care Affiliates.

The American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy officially opened its $20 million Institute for Training & Technology in Downers Grove, Ill.

Jacksonville Beach (Fla.) Surgery Center, affiliated with Symbion, acquired the Fuse endoscopy system. The surgery center is the first provider in the state to acquire the endoscopy technology.
