Legislators Champion Physician-Owned Hospitals; Bill Containing Ban Still Expected to Move Forward

While there has been no new movement on the Supplemental Appropriations Bill, which contains language that would effectively ban future physician-owned hospitals and cap expansion of existing ones, this week, a House version is expected to pass soon, according to Physician Hospitals of America. Further, because the House version is also expected to essentially replicate the Senate version of the bill (which passed May 22), conference discussion would be minimal before the bill is approved and sent to the president.
