ASCA has released its 2012 ASC Employee Salary & Benefits Survey, available here for full members of the association. Printed copies will not be distributed.
Here are a few results from this year's survey:
In 2012, most salaries rose for surgery center staff, including:
• Administrator salaries up 5 percent
• Business office manager salaries up 3.6 percent
• Director of nursing salaries up 3.3 percent
• Materials manager salaries up 1.2 percent
Concerning recruitment at ASCs:
• 22 percent of ASCs said it was harder to recruit new employees in 2012
• 68 percent found recruitment the same in 2012
• 9 percent found it easier
Concerning the impact of the CASC certification:
• Without CASC certification, an administrator with a clinical background made an average of $92,872
• With CASC certification, the same administrator made an average of $110,000
