Wisconsin's Hudson Hospital Surgery & Procedure Center Hits Facility Record With Surgical Volume

Hudson (Wis.) Hospital Surgery & Procedure Center has hit all-time records with surgical volumes, offering nearly 150 surgical procedures each month, according to a Hudson Star-Observer report.

The team of surgeons at the surgery center offers a range of specialties, including ENT, general surgery, OB/GYN, ophthalmology, orthopedic surgery, plastic surgery, podiatry and urology. In 2011, surgery volumes averaged 130 per month; the numbers are up 12 percent in 2012.

General surgery and endoscopy have been the largest growth rate over the last year, at 27 percent. In the last year, the surgery center has added Paul Scott, MD, general surgeon, to its staff.

The surgery center has also added several new surgical procedures, including laparoscopic colon resections, laparoscopic splenectomy and laparoscopic adrenalectomy.
