Valley Hospital Ups Land Acquisitions for Ambulatory Care Development

Ridgewood, N.J.-based Valley Hospital has purchased approximately a half-dozen sites in Ridgewood and in Paramus, N.J., at a cost of $54 million for potential future physicians' offices and outpatient services, according to a report from The Record.

The hospital appears to still be acquiring real-estate in Paramus, possibly for the creation of a medical-services cluster it owns in Paramus, according to the report.

According to the hospital, the purchases are "strategic property acquisitions to insure its ability to develop outpatient and ambulatory programs and services as needed by the community."

Valley Hospital has been competing for the Bergen County Market, having supported Englewood (N.J.) Hospital and Medical Center in its ultimately futile fight to keep Hackensack (N.J.) University Medical Center from opening another facility in Westwood, N.J., according to the report.
