VA Sunshine Healthcare network appoints David Isaacks as deputy network director: 5 notes

The Department of Veterans Affairs named David Isaacks the deputy network director of the VA Sunshine Healthcare Network in St. Petersburg, Fla.

Here are five notes:

1. Mr. Isaacks will oversee the $4.4 billion budget, develop area-wide plans and consolidate institutional functions.

2. He will also manage medical and dental school affiliations, increase human resources, move patients to appropriate care, contract with non-VA providers for medical services and keep up relationships with VA field entities.

3. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Isaacks served as the VISN 15 deputy network director in Kansas City, Mo. He worked for the Kansas Department of Health and Environment as a health systems specialist before joining the VA.

4. A recipient of an AS in business, Mr. Isaacks also holds a BS in business administration and management and a MA in organizational management.

5. Mr. Isaacks will begin his new position in 45 to 60 days.

"His [Mr. Isaacks'] sound leadership qualities and proven experience will be valuable assets for the facility, the employees and volunteers, and most importantly, for the veterans we are honored to serve," said Paul Bockelman, acting VISN 8 director.
