Q: Our ASC is interested in adding a new specialty. What is the first thing we should do before starting the recruitment process and what should we make sure to offer to new physicians to make ourselves an appealing partner?
Chris Suscha: The decision to add a new specialty must have the support and commitment of its existing partnership which should be the result of careful analysis to the benefit of all stakeholders. The ASC can present a complete investment opportunity to the potential partner and include: convenient scheduling, safe environment, quality of life, incremental revenue and return on investment.
