People with chronic diseases more likely to monitor health by apps: 4 takeaways

Of the 1,200 people surveyed by HealthMine, 18 percent reported using smartphone health apps to learn about wellness information, according to smp.

Here are four takeaways:

1. The survey found those with chronic illnesses to be more likely engaged with health apps.

2. HealthMine also surveyed people with diabetes, and found 45 percent of 509 respondents used mobile apps to track their health.

3. The respondents with diabetes reported most often using mobile blood sugar monitors and mobile blood pressure monitors.

4. Bryce Williams, CEO and president of HealthMine, said people should consider using mobile apps to monitor their health, as they may be able to catch serious conditions earlier.
