A Ketchum survey found almost 60 percent of smartphone users reported sending health information to their physicians via their mobile devices.
Here are four takeaways:
1. Forty-seven percent said they utilized technology to monitor how much exercise they get throughout the day.
2. More than 50 percent of U.S. medical facilities used telehealth services in 2013.
3. Telehealth may improve wait times throughout the country, as the CDC found the average wait time for patients to see an emergency room physician is 55 minutes.
4. States including Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Texas, Louisiana, California, New Mexico and Oklahoma, among others, have laws in place mandating payers to cover at least a portion of telehealth services.
