Nobilis acquires Texas ASC; expands into Houston market; Tenet's market cap totals $2.45B & more — 5 key notes on ASC companies

Here are five updates on ambulatory surgery center management companies from the past week.

Nobilis Health acquired an ambulatory surgery center in Dickinson, Texas. Nobilis plans to convert the ASC into a hospital outpatient department out of its Bellaire (Texas) Surgical Hospital. The surgery center houses two operating suites, four pre-operative beds and four recovery beds.

Surgical Care Affiliates partnered with Executive Surgery Center in Tomball, Texas. A physician-led center, Executive Surgery Center offers services including, orthopedic, sports medicine and pain management.

Zacks analysts gave Surgical Care Affiliates an average price target of $54.75 during the week of Sept. 12 to Sept. 16. As of June 30, 2016, SCA operated 201 surgical facilities.

Tenet Healthcare shares rallied 4.02 percent on Sept. 12. The company has a market cap of $2.45 billion.

During the week of Sept. 12 to Sept. 16, Hospital Corporation of America shares fell 0.9 percent, trading at $75.29 per share.
