NJAASC elects 7 new board members

The New Jersey Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers elected seven new board of director members.

The new board members were elected on June 17 at the organization's quarterly meeting in Atlantic City. The new members will serve a two-year term and join four existing board members. The seven new members include:

1. Sharon Gelardi of The Gastro-Surgi Center of New Jersey
2. Michael Graziano of Clifton Surgery Center
3. Linda Wadnik Kollar of Surgi Care of Central New Jersey
4. Jeffrey Shanton of Journal Square Surgical Center
5. Meg Stagliano of Seashore Surgical Institute
6. Joan Cassidy of Premier Health Associates Ambulatory Surgery Center
7. Sharon DeMato of Endo Surgi Center of Union

Ms. Gelardi will serve as the NJAASC secretary and Mr. Graziano signed on as treasurer.

The NJAASC also elected Andrew S. Weiss, CASC, president of the organization. He will serve a one-year term in addition to his responsibilities as administrator of The Endo Center at Voorhees.

Joan Balducci, RN, BS, joined NJAASC as executive director, with responsibilities including directing the association's membership, marketing and operations. She has experience in healthcare administration and has been active in the ASC industry since 2003.
