MedHQ, who provides outsourced human resources and accounting services to surgical facilities and related physician practices, recently named Jay Petrick vice president of business development.
Mr. Petrick, who has 15 years of experience in human resources outsourcing, was previously employed with Tandem HR, and will now be responsible for customer development and revenue generation at MedHQ.
"MedHQ is a company that has been around for about 12 years. It has never really had somebody in my position. They are really poised for growth right now and it is a company I think I can have a really positive impact on and help grow, and that is what I like to be a part of. It is what I have done in the past," said Mr. Petrick. "They are really great people and have a really great solution that is beneficial in the surgical center space."
More than 50 healthcare organizations in the nation currently use MedHQ to manage their HR and accounting, which holds the opportunity for ASCs to cut costs of labor, or receive management or data from the company.
"We have just begun to tap into the outsourcing market. Nationally, market penetration is low across all areas of HR and accounting outsourcing. This puts us in a great position to increase revenues. In a good economy or a bad economy, our sales should remain steady. When there is confusion or uncertainty in the market a lot of companies look to outsource, thinking that it could offset costs to their bottom line and make them more efficient. In a good economy, there are usually excess dollars to spend and they want to increase their efficiency, but add more infrastructure and big company benefits for their employees. I think the same is true in healthcare," said Mr. Petrick.
