Mercom Capital Group saw an uptick in venture capital funding in the healthcare IT marketplace last year, according to Yahoo! Finance.

1. In 2016, there were 622 deals in the market, totaling $5.1 billion in venture capital funding.
2. Comparatively, 574 deals raised $4.6 billion in venture capital funding in the healthcare IT market in 2015.
3. Healthcare IT corporate funding hit $5.6 billion last year, a 30 percent decrease from 2015.
4. The healthcare IT sector has received $18.5 billion in venture capital funding since 2010.
5. In 2016, 1,115 investors invested in healthcare IT, up from 923 investors in 2015.
