1. Originally introduced in 2014, the Physician Employment Calculator is a web-based program determining fair market value for physician employment arrangements. More than 300 hospitals in the U.S. use the platform.
2. Physician Employment Calculator can assess fair market value for thousands of physician compensation arrangements and takes factors such as the physician's specialty, qualifications and the local market into consideration.
3. The calculator mirrors analysis that HealthCare appraisers uses in traditional valuation models, which take into account the physician's historical productivity, supervision of midlevel providers and expected productivity.
4. The calculator covers both full and part time arrangements as well as W-2 employment and independent contractors.
5. More than 100 physician specialties are covered by the calculator.
