GE Healthcare donates $2M to Rio Paralympic Games: 4 thoughts

GE Healthcare is donating medical equipment to the Rio de Janeiro Paralympic Games in September, according to the Milwaukee Business Journal.

The healthcare organization also donated equipment to the summer olympic games.

Here's what you should know.

1. GE Healthcare has a sponsorship agreement with the International Olympic Committee to supply diagnostic equipment to the olympics. That equipment involves magnetic resonance, ultrasound and digital X-ray equipment.

2. GE also provides the olympics with IT software including radiology information systems.

3. As part of the sponsorship, GE also provided Rio de Janeiro with $2 million worth of new equipment for one of its main emergency hospitals.

4. GE also made donations to the Sochi, Vancouver and London Olympic games.
