Miami-based Florida International University's healthcare MBA program offers students insight on how to adapt to the industry under the Affordable Care Act.

Here are five takeaways:

1. Faculty and students collaborate with healthcare leaders, learning how to combine great patient outcomes with low costs.

2. Students complete a capstone project where they work with leading hospital administrators.

3. During the project, students analyze patient readmission data and reimbursement penalties and bonuses.

4. Students conclude the project by offering recommendations for care enhancement.

5. The MBA program lasts 18 months.
