Federal government giving aid to Florida care centers — 4 key notes

The federal government is giving $814,000 to the two largest primary care centers in Collier and Lee counties in Florida to provide medical care and expand programs for residents, according to HelpinUS.

Here are four key notes:

1. Florida is receiving $20 million from the government, with $14 million allocated toward serving nearly 43,000 new patients.

2. The Healthcare Network of Southwest Florida, based in Collier County, is receiving $358,395 from the government.

3. Fort Myers-based Family Health Centers will be granted $455,779. Family Health has 27 locations throughout Florida.

4. Approximately $500 million in funding under the Affordable Care Act has been provided to 1,300 healthcare centers around the nation.
