Do California voters think illegal immigrants should receive low-cost healthcare? — 4 things to know

USC Dornsife and Los Angeles Times conducted a poll asking California residents if they believe low-cost health insurance should be provided to illegal residents, according to Los Angeles Times.

The poll received answers from 1,500 California voters.

Here are four things to know:

1. Around 48 percent of those polled felt illegal immigrants should be able to receive low-cost health insurance through Medi-Cal.

2. Around 47 percent of those polled felt the opposite, stating illegal immigrants should not be eligible for low-cost health insurance.

3. While 19 percent of Republicans polled believed the illegal immigrants should be eligible, 68 percent of Democrats polled believed they should be eligible.

4. There are an estimated 2 million illegal immigrants residing in California.
