Communication and the crafting of a more capable CEO

"A leader is not born but is made to be one," writes IIFL in a recent article regarding what it takes to make a CEO successful.

As such, there are certainly clear and objective ways to improve and become a more competent CEO.

It all starts with a better understanding of what a chief executive is meant to do.
Usually, the skill set that most CEOs have includes making deals and managing employees. But even more importantly, the ability to communicate is paramount for company leaders — communicating not only from top to bottom within the parameters of a business, but also to the business' target audience.

"No leadership is sustainable without apt and involved communication with the target audience segment. Communiques, open-house discussions, internal marketing, etc. are some of the effective ways that a CEO candidate leverages to ensure that his team is motivated and in sync with the vision and objectives of the top management," IIFL writes.

Centering one's attention on that one skill can dramatically improve a CEO's success.
