CMS is extending the 2014 informal review period for individual eligible professionals and group practices participating in the Physician Quality Reporting System that think they have been incorrectly assessed the 2016 PQRS negative payment adjustment.
Here are four points:
1. PQRS participants have until Nov. 23 to submit a request for an informal review wherein CMS will investigate the issue.
2. The previous deadline was Nov. 9.
3. All those requesting informal reviews will be contacted via email with the final decision by CMS within 90 days.
4. All informal review requests must be submitted electronically via the Quality Reporting Communication Support Page.
