Clinton & Trump don't hold back in 1st debate — cybersecurity, healthcare receive brief spotlights: 6 takeaways

The 2016 presidential nominees battled it out during the first debate on Sept. 26, at one point touching on healthcare and cybersecurity, according to Healthcare IT News.

Here are six takeaways:

1. Democratic presidential nominee, Hillary Clinton, advocated for paid family leave, earned sick days and affordable childcare.

2. Republican candidate Donald Trump agreed with Ms. Clinton about childcare, but said they may disagree on the numbers.

3. The cybersecurity discussion revolved around ISIS and terrorism threats.

4. Hillary Clinton argued the United States has to do "everything we can do [to] vacuum up intelligence from Europe, from the Middle East."

5. Donald Trump cut in, claiming the former Secretary of State had been fighting ISIS "her entire adult life." His plan involves recruiting NATO to go into the Middle East with the United States to "knock the hell out of ISIS," fast.

6. Mr. Trump also gave the Democratic National Convention email hack a mention, noting it could have been Russia, China or "someone sitting on their bed who weighs 400 pounds."
