American College of Physicians names AmSurg's Dr. Robert Musselman a fellow; Nobilis names Kenneth Efird president & more — 6 key notes on ASC companies

Here are six updates on ASC management companies from the past week.

American College of Physicians named AmSurg Partner Robert F. Musselman, MD, a fellow. A board certified gastroenterologist, Dr. Musselman previously served as vice president of the medicine department at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, Md.

Medical Facilities Corp. had a cash dividend payment of Cdn$0.09375 per common share this month. MFC's July dividend marks the company's 148th consecutive dividend payment since MFC's inception.

North American Partners in Anesthesia acquired Northern New Jersey Anesthesia Associates in Belleville, marking NAPA's third anesthesia practice acquisition in this area. With the NNJAA addition, NAPA's network extends to 55 hospitals and 50 ambulatory surgery centers in the Northeast region.

Nobilis Health named Kenneth Efird president. Since joining Nobilis in 2005, Mr. Efird has overseen revenue cycle management, sales, business development, clinical operations and the rollout of a new marketing strategy.

During the week of July 18 to July 22, Tenet Healthcare shares traded up 5.1 percent, hitting $31.46 per share.

Hospital Corporation of America shares increased 2.08 percent last week. In the past four weeks, the shares have underperformed the S&P 500 by 1.9 percent.
