Allergan CEO Brent Saunders weighs in on Trump's first month: 4 key notes

Parsippany-Troy Hills, N.J.-based Allergan CEO Brent Saunders gave his take to Fox News on President Donald Trump's first month in office.

Here's what you should know.

1. Mr. Saunders said President Trump is a "populist first" politician, that is also pro-growth and pro-innovation.

2. Concerning companies outsourcing work or relocating out of the country, Mr. Saunders said President Trump is taking a different approach from former President Barack Obama. He told Fox, "[Trump is] saying 'no, let's fix our problems so you don't want to leave. Let's go to a more territorial based tax system and make American companies more competitive globally.'"

3. Despite campaign promises to reduce corporate taxes, Mr. Saunders said Allergan wouldn't move its operations from Ireland.

4. President Trump wants to lower drug prices. Although Mr. Saunders said lowering prices is a good thing, he believes the industry should address pricing, not the government.
