85% of physicians see digital tools' potential in improving care — 6 statistics

Physicians increasingly understand the benefits digital tools offer, according to Health Data Management.

Kantar TNS surveyed 1,300 physicians on their views and willingness to adopt technological tools.

Here are six statistics:

1. Of those polled, 85 percent said they believe these tools may help improve care.

2. Almost half (48 percent) of physicians said digital tools improve work efficiency and 47 percent reported they increase patient safety.

3. Forty-one percent said digital tools improve diagnostic ability, 39 percent reported tools reduce stress and burnout and 38 percent said digital tools improve the physician-patient relationship.

4. Thirty-six percent of those polled said digital tools increase patient adherence to orders.

5. Twenty-eight percent reported using clinical decision support tools and 42 percent used tools for workflow enhancement.

6. Nearly half (53 percent) of those polled use the tools to offer patients access to their clinical data while 26 percent use patient engagement digital tools.
