• Number of breach incidents in North America — 707
• Number of records lost or stolen everyday — 1.3 million
• Percentage of breach incidents caused by a malicious outsider — 62 percent
• Percentage of breaches for the purposes of identity theft — 53 percent
• Percentage of breaches where number of compromised records was unknown — 50 percent
