6 trends in healthcare hiring

iCIMS released a report on hiring in the healthcare industry today.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, healthcare is expected to add the most jobs through 2024 and demographics and policy will impact changes in hiring over the next few years.

The report found:

1. The fields with the greatest challenges to attracting applicants are ambulatory care employers and nursing/resident facilities.

2. Ambulatory care employers fill positions faster than any other category.

3. Residential and nursing facilities see the fewest applicants per position.

4. Technical healthcare positions have the steadiest tightening in their competition and receive fewer applicants per position than other positions.

5. Home aides and healthcare support positions fill faster than other healthcare positions even though they receive the most applicants per position.

6. The field is becoming more competitive for talent as the number of applicants per open position has been declining in the past three years.
