6 ASCs making the news this week

The following are six ambulatory surgery centers that have made the news locally, at the state level or nationally in four announcements during the past week.

1. Ambulatory surgery center company Interventional Management Services announced the merger of Interventional Spine and Pain Management and Comprehensive Pain Management, both Atlanta-based practices.

2. Eye Surgery and Laser Center in Winter Haven, Fla., and Central Florida Surgi-Center in Lakeland were both been featured in an article in the local paper The Ledger on the rise of laser surgery in ophthalmic procedures, particularly cataract removal.

3. Lakeland (Fla.) Surgical & Diagnostic Center CEO David G. Daniel will retire Oct. 1 after nearly eight years at the center.

4. Seacoast Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in Somersworth, N.H., welcomed Adam B. Fleit, MD, a hand surgeon, to its practice.
