A new report from Aprima Medical Software, a practice management and electronic health record solution for medical practices, shows healthcare professionals feel President-elect Donald Trump's administration will improve the U.S. healthcare system.
There were 312 physicians who participated in the survey. Here are five key findings:
1. More than half — 52 percent — believe Mr. Trump's presidency will improve the healthcare in the United States.
2. Forty-eight percent of the respondents feel the next president will have a positive financial impact on their practice.
3. A majority — 52 percent — of the respondents expect there will be changes to the ACA, although only one-third think there will be a total repeal.
4. Fifty-nine percent of respondents feel optimistic that there will be fewer regulatory burdens on physician practices. However, the respondents were divided on the terms of the potential impact on provider compensation models and access to care.
5. Forty percent of the providers feel there will be a shift back to fee-for-service under President-elect Trump while 38 percent predict healthcare will continue down the same road in search of cost-effective, quality care.
Most of the respondents were affiliated with independent physician offices and physicians as well as other clinical professionals represented 52 percent of the participants; 48 percent were administrative staff.
