5 things to know about Virtua choosing Teladoc to break into telehealth

Virtua, healthcare provider in southern New Jersey, chose Teladoc to expand its services to telemedicine.

Here are five things to know:

1. Virtua will launch its telemedicine services in fall 2015.

2. Teladoc's clinical network of year-round access to physicians via phone, internet and video welcomes Virtua's board-certified primary care physicians to its team.

3. Virtua hopes to increase consumer access to non-emergent care with the help of Teladoc.

4. The company already reaches a three-county market area and has a network of health and wellness centers, primary care physician services, hospitals and outpatient centers.

5. With healthcare becoming more patient-focused, Teladoc CEO Jason Gorevic emphasizes the critical role telemedicine plays in staying competitive.
