A majority of physicians employed by healthcare organizations spend one to nine hours per week on paperwork and administration, according to the Medscape Physician Compensation Report 2014.
The report includes responses from more than 24,000 physicians in 25 specialties.
When asked how long they spend on administration and paperwork, employed respondents reported:
• 0 hours — 13 percent
• 1 to 9 hours — 52 percent
• 10 to 19 hours — 21 percent
• 20 to 24 hours — 12 percent
• 25 hours or more — 2 percent
