4 ways to create an exceptional workplace culture

Healthcare professionals spend a majority of their time in the workplace, making a great workplace culture key to any practice's success, according to Health eCareers.

Here are four ways to create an exceptional workplace culture:

1. Create a clear line of communication. Successful practices have transparent communication that facilitates trust amongst staff members. Administrators and practice leaders should be open about the reasoning behind their decisions.

2. Have strong leaders. A practice without strong leaders could lose valuable employees. Consider implementing leadership training programs so your practice's leaders can understand the importance of a good workplace culture.

3. Maintain work/life balance. Younger physicians and staff members are increasingly focused on maintaining a work/life balance. To make this feasible, practices may consider hiring additional advanced practitioners who can help physician with various administrative tasks.

4. Take your time when hiring. Hire candidates who would fit well with your practice's culture. When interviewing a candidate, form questions that reflect your culture so you don't hastily make a hire that could cause problems later.
