4 Statistics on How Physicians Would Change Their Schedules

Approximately one-third of physicians under the age of 40 years are happy with their current schedule, according to 2014 Work/Life Profiles of Today's U.S. Physician released by AMA Insurance.

The survey includes responses from 4,950 U.S. physicians. The survey was conducted in October 2013.

When asked how they would change their schedules, if they could, respondents reported the following:

•    Reduce number of hours per week — 47 percent
•    Happy with current schedule — 37 percent
•    Work days instead of nights — 6 percent
•    Increase number of hours per week — 3 percent
