Wisconsin Eye Clinic Opens 6,000-Square-Foot Surgery Center in Wasau

A Wasau, Wis., eye clinic is opening a 6,000-square-foot surgery center, according to a WJFW report.

The clinic in Wasau sees more than 60,000 patient visits every year and has served the area for 50 years. The surgery center addition is expected to increase patient visits by 3,500.

"We can increase the flexibility in terms of how we can schedule patients, delivering better care with flexibility in scheduling," said Douglas Edwards, MD, an ophthalmologist at the clinic. "It allows us to control the technology, so we can stay on the cutting edge of technology and providing state-of-the-art care to our patients."

The clinic is also increasing its staff by nearly ten percent, with the addition of nine new staff members. Administrators say the center will be ready for patients in early January.
