WakeMed Revenue Increase Fueled by Full Year of Operations for Blue Ridge Surgery Center

WakeMed Health & Hospitals' patient revenue increased by 8 percent to nearly $1 billion in 2011, driven in part by a full year of operation of the system's Blue Ridge Surgery Center in Raleigh, N.C., according to a Triangle Business Journal report.

The addition of four private practices made up the largest chunk — $13.3 million — of additional revenue, but a price increase for hospital services and the services of Blue Ridge Surgery Center also contributed.

Income from operations increased 64 percent, reaching $33.5 million, in 2011.
