Upstate New York Hospital Targets ASC for Takeover
Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, N.Y., is in discussions with Harrison Outpatient Surgery Center in downtown Syracuse for a possible takeover, according to The Post-Standard.
Upstate University would lease the six-OR surgery center and buy its equipment for $2.53 million. More than half of the nearly 5,000 procedures performed at Harrison last year were in orthopedics.
The hospital is awaiting state approval for the transaction.
The surgery center is owned by Holdings LLC, which also owns an ASC in Camillus, N.Y.
