Surgical Care Affiliates has announced it has entered into a formal agreement to manage the surgical services of Bethesda, Md.-based Suburban Outpatient Surgery Center, a subsidiary of Suburban Hospital Healthcare System, a member of Johns Hopkins Medicine.
SCA's management objectives include strengthening the ASC's current service lines and launching new service lines and specialties, according to an SCA news release.
"We are honored to be selected to enter into this affiliation," said Andrew Hayek, president and CEO of SCA, in the release. "We believe this surgery center will combine outstanding clinical quality with a high degree of physician focus, all done in affiliation with Suburban Hospital and Johns Hopkins Medicine. We believe our management systems can improve surgical care in Maryland and other areas, and this is another step forward in SCA becoming the partner of choice for leading health systems."
Suburban Outpatient Surgery Center performs more than 2,000 procedures annually.
