Surgery Center of Southern Oregon to Initiate $3M Expansion

The Surgery Center of Southern Oregon in Medford has announced plans for a 1,081-square-foot expansion of its existing building and plans to add a 12,396-square-foot facility north of its current location, according to a Mail Tribune report.

The first floor of the new building would include a GI procedure center with four operating rooms and 12 recovery rooms. The second floor is intended to eventually become an overnight recovery area for patients.

Physicians own a majority of the center, with not-for-profit organization Asante owning 20 percent.

Once the expansion is complete, it is estimated the center will perform from 2,500 to 3,000 more procedures each year.
