Provena United Samaritans Medical Center Receives Approval to Acquire Surgery Center
Provena United Samaritans Medical Center has received approval from the state to acquire Danville HealthCare, an ambulatory surgery center in Danville, Ill., according to a Commercial-News report.
The Illinois Health and Facilities Planning Board recently approved Provena's application to transfer ownership of the outpatient surgery center to Provena United Samaritans Medical Center.
The acquisition does not replace Provena's current ambulatory care unit, which houses endoscopy and outpatient surgery within the hospital. Rather, it offers another option for patients with less complex surgical needs.
The facility will close for a few weeks to give the center a renovation. The facility will have a "new look" and a new name: ACCESS, which stands for Ambulatory Care Center for Excellence in Surgical Services.
